President Jacob Zuma and Youth League leader Julius Malema are both under fire from opposition parties. The Democratic Alliance is calling for Zuma to declare all his business interests. They want him to do this to show that his decisions as head of state are not influenced by personal interests. DA parliamentary leader Athol Trollip says Zuma, as the President, is required by the law to declare his financial interests.
Zuma's spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says there is a "lack of clarity" over whether he will have to declare.
Meanwhile Independent Democrats leader Patricia de Lille says ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema may be stealing from the poor through tax evasion. |
