Live ammo fired in Mamelodi PDF Print E-mail

Live ammunition has been fired by protestors in Mamelodi east of Pretoria in running battles with police. The residents have been protesting since last night. Tswane city spokesperson, Console Tleane says the situation is very tense.  The protest action is led by residents of Phomolong and several streets, including Tsamaya road at the corner of Mabena street, and Hans Strydom road at the corner of Hector Peterson street, have been barricaded.

 
US right wing Christian extremist groups growing PDF Print E-mail

The number of extremist white groups in the US is increasing at an alarming rate. This is being driven by failures and hostilities towards the Obama administration as well as the increasing propagation of conspiracy theories by parts of the mass media such as Fox News. The number has jumped nearly 250% to more than 500 with deepening ties to conservative mainstream politics.

A report by the Southern Poverty Law Centre, called Rage on the Right,  says this is a cause for grave concern.These groups are prone to violence. The SPLC notes that the rise comes as part of a deepening disillusionment with government in which just one quarter of Americans think government can be trusted. They have identified 512 groups, including "patriots" and militias, which it accuses of pushing extreme anti-government doctrines.

 
Son of Hamas founder spied for Shin Bet PDF Print E-mail

The son of one of the founding member of Hamas has worked for the Israeli intelligence group, Shin Bet. Mosab Hassan Yousef has renounced Islam and is a Chriistian. He has called the God of the Quran the biggest terrorist and that Islam teaches people to kill. Yousef added that the more a person forllows what he called God of the Quran and prophet of the Quran the closer they will come to being a terrorist.

He says his ultimate aim is to see peace between Palestinians and Israelis and that acting as a spy for Israel helped save lives. He has now released a book and is no longer active and an Israeli operative. He added that Hamas has no idea how Shin Bet operates. His father Sheik Hassan Yousef has disowned him saying his son has left the fold of Islam and collobarated with the enemies of the Palestinians.
 
Music star kills four in car race PDF Print E-mail

A popular hip hop music artist and another motorist have been involved in an accident that killed four pedestrians. The four teenagers were standing on a street corner yesterday in Protea glen, Soweto, when the cars lost control during a street dice or race. Police have confirmed that the drivers were under the influence of alcohol. A report is still pending to determine whether they were also using drugs,
 
Nigerian army called in PDF Print E-mail

The Nigerian army has been called in to patrol the streets of Jos after an orgy of violence left over 500 people dead there according to some reports. The official death toll however is only 55. Police and security forces are now hunting Muslim Hausa Fulani herdsmen who are believed to be responsible killing of Christian villagers. Many of the dead include women and children. The attacks are said to be in revenge for attacks by Christian on Muslim earlier this year.
