Channel Islam International(Cii) has once again scooped top honours in a national survey of the Muslim Corporate Community in South Africa.

At an awards ceremony in Johannesburg today, Cii was endowed with two awards affirming its widespread commendation by the South African Muslim community.

Cii was placed 1st overall by appraisers in the KZN region, receiving the Diamond Arrow award for its outreach in the province. In Gauteng, the station walked away with the Golden Arrow prize, which equated with a second place or Excellent rating.

The awards, hosted annually by consulting and research firm PMR Africa, honour leaders and acheivers in the Muslim corporate environment doing the most in their respective sectors to stimulate the economic growth and development of South Africa.

PMR Africa CEO Johan Hattingh described the accolades as “significant” noting that they were drawn from perceptions gleaned from influential role players in the wider Muslim community.

“The companies were rated by a random, national sample of 80 CEO’s, MD’s, owners of companies, company directors and community leaders representing the Muslim Community in South Africa.”

Cii Presenter Inayet Wadee said the awards affirmed that the station continued to maintain the mandate of the community. “Alhamdulillah, these awards indicate that Cii as a brand has made its mark. It also indicates the confidence that the business community at large has in Cii. It’s inspiring, its absolutely motivating for us at Channel Islam, and Insha Allah it is just going to motivate us to go further and further.”
