The nomination process for positions up for grabs at the ANC’s elective conference in Mangaung in December is in full swing. It is up to the various branches of the ANC to make their respective choices, some provinces have come out and made an official declaration as to who will have their vote in Mangaung.
Qaanitah Hunter has tabled the various nominations in support for a second term for President Jacob Zuma or the election of Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe as the president of the ruling party.
Some provinces have not yet revealed who they will be backing and have not made any formal nominations and therefore are not included.

| ANC Women’s League- 45 voting delegates in Mangaung.
Leader Angie Motsheka is a strong Zuma ally. Reports indicate they want the leadership to remain the same.

ANC Youth League- 45 voting delegates in Mangaung.
Leadership is strongly opposed to Zuma They have confirmed that they will nominate Motlanthe as president. |
| ANC Free state- 324 voting delegates in Mangaung.
Reports indicate that they will strongly support Zuma. There is nothing official at this point. |
ANC Gauteng- 500 voting delegates in Mangaung
They say they want renewal in the leadership. Support for Motlanthe was made public by the provincial executive council.

The PEC has put its weight behind Zuma. They say the top 6 should remain power to maintain unity. |
ANC Limpopo- 574 voting delegates in Mangaung
There are united in supporting Motlanthe. |
| ANC Buffalo city in the Eastern Cape- part of 676 voting delegates allocated for the province.
Like other supporters of Zuma’s re-election they say it will be in line with unity.
