Government is set to implement the controversial e-tolling system in Gauteng.
However after the constitutional court overturned the North Gauteng high courts
interdict, fresh public consultation took place and a new funding model is in the
pipeline.

In an interview with ENCA, deputy president Kgalema Motlanthe said that he was in
the final phase of consultations with the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance
(Outa) and Cosatu amongst others.

He is expected to announce the new funding model which will include revised tariffs
and proposals for alternative funding mechanisms within days for road users.
