Muslims living in Alexandra township, north of Johannesburg now receive a nutritious Iftaar.

This is courtesy of a group of generous Muslims, headed by Moulana Suhail Waadee of Marlboro Gardens.

“We work very closely with the community of Alexandra. We gave them food hampers and Iftaar as well.” He said.

They partnered with the Africa Muslim Agency and delivered hampers of groceries to members of the community.

Moulana Wadee, who runs a Madrassah in Marlboro Gardens, said during Ramadan they take care of a children’s home where they provide Iftaar.

“We also have a prisoner program where wherein we give prisoners dates and on Eid we will InshAllah give them a pot of Biryani,” he said.

Apart form this, Moulana Wadee said they deliver a variety of other services.
