Ramdaan is the month of the Quraan. But is it only for Hufadh?

A lot of emphasis on the Hufadh to recite their Quraan in Taraweeh Sallah
but the same is not given to a female.

South Africa has been blessed with numerous Haafidhas but the effort and
spotlight on her efforts stops at her completion. But it is well known that
care for the Quraan is ongoing and the commitment is life long.

Many female Hifdh teachers have expressed that once a woman completes and
gets involved in a busy routine then fitting a time for Dhor is absolutely
impossible.

"I don't know when last I did a full round of Dhor," is a common sentiment
expressed by Haafidhaat and Taraweeh Sallah is often performed with the
recitation of the shorter Surahs of the Quraan.

But according to a few Hifdh teachers who spoke to Cii News, it should
become the concern of every Haafidha to take extra care to ensure that not a
single Ayah is forgotten.

"Once the Haafidha takes the responsibility of learning the Quraan, she
needs to understand that the Quraan has a great right over her," some
expressed.

They further said that it is the Haqq (right) of the Quraan upon her to
recite it in the Taraweeh sallah.

"As we study the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammed (saw), the lifestyle of the
Sahabah and Akaabereen (religious scholars) and the continuous advise of our
Aazatiza (teachers), we find one of the best ways to strengthen ones Quraan
is to recite it in Sallah."

With the gift of Taraweeh, this practice becomes very easy, the Madrassah
said.

Speaking to Cii News, various Hafidhaat said that females have it harder
than males because they have to accommodate for the period of Haidh
(menstrual bleeding).

"Women also have to take care of Iftaar, they have to clear up etc and that
is why many off them who are Haafidhaat take the shortcut."

The Statement made reference to the Hadith: Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As
(May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The one
who was devoted to the the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection:
`Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the
world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.'''
[Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

"This Hadeeth should be a motivation for every Haafidha who wants to make
Jannatul Firdaus her abode, and this abode can only be obtained by that
Muslim who is able to read Quraan without errors."

They further said that we should not ask the question, "should a Haafidha
recite the Quraan in Taraweeh?" Rather it should be a question how much will
be recited in Taraweeh.
