South Africa has again been blessed with the visit of a senior international Islamic scholar. Sheikh Ali al Abbasi, Imaam and Khateeb of the Masjidul Aqsa is currently on a brief tour of South Africa. He will be leading Salaah and speaking to Mussallees at Masaajid across Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal.

As resident of Al Quds(Jerusalem) he has repeatedly been harassed by Israeli Occupation Authorities. In 2009, Sheikh al Abbasi was briefly kidnapped by the Israeli army and ordered not to return to Al Quds.
