Fatwa on Oral Sex – by Mufti AK Hoosen

Q. Is oral sex permissible?

A. It is not permissible due to the following reasons .

1 – It is contrary to the teachings of Islam. ALLAH TA‘ALA states: And when they(wives) have purified themselves then go to them as ALLAH hath enjoined upon you. Your women are a tilth for you to (cultivate) so go to your tilth…. (surah 2 verses 222 & verse 223).

2-Mazi (pre-seminal fluid) is impure according to all four schools of thought . On the authority of Ali RA, “I used to experience pre-seminal fluid discharge excessively, so I commanded Miqdad to ask Nabi SAW about it. Nabi SAW said with regard to pre-seminal fluid, one needs to make wudhu.” (Bhukari & Muslim) (Bulugh al Maram, Hadith No. 67) Thus one cannot insert something impure into someone’s mouth.

3-From an ethical perspective it is against the laws of modesty and shame.

Nabi (saw) said: “Every religion has a unique feature and the characteristic of Islam is shame and modesty . (Muwattah Imam Maalik) Hence oral sex is haraam in Islaam.

But sperm is not najis and even one can perform Namaz after it has dried up and just u can rub ur cloth to say Namaz, then how oral sex can be not permitted in Islam. Dont create confusion abt sexual libelarism in Islam.

I don’t believe that Islam’s unique characteristic is synonymous with shame and modesty, this topic should be open to discussion. This is merely an opinion of either a small collective or an individual and certainly not enough to constitute a fatwa. Much in the same way this comment is my opinion, I do not agree with this repressive mode of thought which cites only a few verses as substantiation. This type of mentality is ‘characteristic’ of power-hungry individuals who wish to dispense fatwas according to their own whims and fancies in an attempt to turn adherent Muslims into a loveless nation of drones. Light up the darkness!

It’s so sad to see Islam tainted by individuals who misguide the community with their personal beliefs and preferences. So for years nothing was declared haraam regarding oral sex until one fine day, a bored old man decided “let’s declare a fatwa on oral sex”
Educate yourself, because Islam clearly states learn about your religion daily and you Mufti need to learn a great deal!

Aslm , for thos of you who disputing what the honourable Mufti has said , I ask you this , would you kiss your kids/loved with the same mouth you use to perform such a shameful act ? Did either of you study Islam in detail to question the Mufti ? Have any of you studied the life of Nabi SAW in great detail ? I was horrified at all the ignorant comments questioning Mufti,(who studied Islam for many years) and that horror gave way to anger. Then anger turned to sadness for the ignorance of muslims today! To all those that dispute Mufti I pray that the Almighty guide me first and all of you and you repent. I am not without fault and hardly the perfect muslim, but I can say that I have known for YEARS that oral sex is HARAAM!!!

As salaam wa laikum, my intention is to fast my 6 days of Shawaal, but at the same time need to catch up on my 5 days missed during Ramadan, therefore totally 11 days. I have heard that I can make my niyaat to cover both Fard and Sunnat in one. In other words fast 6 days and this will include both shawaal and missed fasts together. Is this correct? Or do I have to complete the 11 days?

Slms. I think people should not jump on to putting disrespectful comments on Mufti Saab. If they don’t believe in Mufti AK they should ask some other Mufti. No matter how good or bad a mufti is they are still elders of the ummah and a guidance and because of their great knowledge of Islam we have to respect them.
