A Poem by Maseehullah Suliman

Guns and knives in its fatal prime..everyone’s drowning in this wave of crime

How guilty are thieves after we perceive, that it is our lost Deen we failed to
retrieve

How guilty is the rapist after we agree, that we allowed our half-dressed daughter out till three

How guilty is the burglar after we realise, that between TV and Salaah we could
never prioritise

What a force they appear to be… these non-believers I do decree, have disunited our ranks and caused us to flee

When will the muslim men take charge of our streets, by being the true shepherds that they were meant to be

How long until we acknowledge that away from this Deen we stray.. Bow down in shame for indeed now more than ever, it is time we pray

Lift up your hands to the One Above.. and if the strength for that not be in you,
then spend your money to earn His Love

For indeed the night of sin has lengthened in disguise… What be of us the day, the sun does not rise?
